Top 5 Guns to Use in COD Warzone Season 1

There are over 100 available weapons to use in Season 1 of Warzone, and here are our picks for the five best.

Season 1 of the new version of Call of Duty: Warzone has introduced over 100 different weapons to use in your loadouts. While many of these weapons are returning from the previous iteration of Warzone, they have been massively changed to accommodate the new features of the current version. Then, you also have the 40 weapons that were introduced with MW3, making for quite a conundrum if you’re trying to figure out what guns to use.

Luckily, the community works pretty fast to find the best guns in Warzone, regardless of the season. Even in Season 1 when Warzone is only weeks old, there is a list of meta guns that you should be using if you want a true advantage over your opponents. These guns either have the best time-to-kill stats or can be built in such a way that makes them kill faster than most other guns in the game.

To see our list of the top five guns currently in Season 1 of Warzone, read the guide below.

1. BAS-B

The undisputed best all-around weapon in Warzone right now is the BAS-B. This battle rifle is not only the best long-range weapon, but it’s also the best close-range weapon with the right set of attachments. Some players are even going so far as to equip the BAS-B as both their primary and secondary weapons. The gun has virtually no weaknesses and is likely in line for a nerf sooner rather than later, so use it while you still can.

2. MTZ Interceptor

If you played any Warzone during the Black Ops Cold War era, you know how strong a good marksman rifle can be on a large-scale map like Urzikstan. Like the DMR 14 from Cold War, the MTZ Interceptor is absolutely dominating lobbies in the current version of Warzone. It can basically two-tap fully-armored enemies across the map with a well-placed headshot, making it one of the more overpowered guns we’ve seen in quite some time.

3. WSP Swarm

WSP Swarm COD Warzone

While secondary submachine guns aren’t as popular as they have been in years past, the WSP Swarm currently sits as the best option in Season 1 of Warzone. It can shred enemies at close-range thanks to its high fire rate and mobility but isn’t a slouch at mid-range either. Of course, it’s not recommended to use against a rifle at longer ranges, but any close-range encounter is perfect for the WSP Swarm.

4. DG-56

DG-56 COD Warzone

The DG-56 might not seem like a terrific option for Warzone at first, but if you’re an accurate shot, then it’s arguably the best mid-long-range choice for you in Season 1. It’s a burst assault rifle with a tremendous damage profile, almost no recoil, and decent mobility, making it a solid option for most situations in Warzone. Of course, you need to make sure you hit your bursts, otherwise, you will be swiftly taken out by something like the BAS-B.

5. KATT AMR

Wrapping up our list is the only viable sniper rifle for Warzone, the KATT AMR. The KATT AMR is the only sniper rifle that can one-shot kill fully-armored enemies without the need for any extra attachments on its loadout. As such, it’s the only real choice for players looking to snipe in Warzone. However, you will have to deal with the KATT AMR’s less-than-optimal mobility, even at longer ranges.

And that does it for our list of the top five guns in Season 1 of Warzone. If you’re looking to craft a loadout around one or more of these guns, then you can check out our list of the best Perk Packages in Warzone to ensure your loadout is fully optimal.
